How can your business rental lease affect a general liability and property claim?

A business rental lease, like any important contract, can have an impact on your liability exposures. It is always a good idea to have your insurance professional review your contracts to make sure you are covered from potential issues.

For example, your business lease may require you to maintain the sidewalk outside of your business. If you have an indemnity or hold-harmless clause in your lease contract, you may be liable for any accidents that occur in front of your business, such as someone slipping and falling, even if they are not visiting your business.

It is important to make sure your interests are covered. Please contact me if you would like more information on reviewing your lease or other important contracts.
